Practice-Based Research Syntheses

baby looking up A practice-based research synthesis involves systematic analysis and integration of the research literature of a specific practice with a focus on the characteristics of the practice that are associated with specific consequences or outcomes. Literature reviews include studies of early intervention and preschool special education practices and models, and studies in other fields (e.g., medicine and social marketing) that inform practices related to child find, referral, early identification, and eligibility determination. A focus on the characteristics of practices as the unit of analysis makes explicit which components or elements of the practices are most important in producing desired consequences.
